What the future has in store for us….

I took this picture about twenty years ago, at least. In Venice, during a holiday in Italy. It is still available for purchase in a picture database. At that time I liked to take photos – I still do – but landscapes and fruits in the bowl are too boring for me, I prefer to photograph people – which brings with it its circumstances – I rarely photograph at the moment.

I uploaded this picture after my holidays and it was accepted and listed. This was an avant-garde picture database, it is still one, at that time, the accepted pictures were hand-picked. One could then download them for little money and because it was so cheap, there was a habit, to send a copy of the picture in use. So, with the time I became owner of many magazines, flyers etc. and in the end I only kept these three copies, the two CDs and this book.

As you can see, I have a feeling for surrealism and like motifs that make people think, I’m not necessarily a friend of rosy flower macros and romantic sunsets, which have often give me the reputation of a negative, dark and pessimistic figure – which I don’t even agree with. Life isn’t a cheer and sunshine, we have a lot of rainy days in this life, even in a healthy state, much less like this, and I don’t like an artificial cheerfulness…

Back to the book: I found it the other day when I cleaned up my basement. I never read it and I never thought that this topic would interest me especially. It’s good that sometimes we don’t know, what the future has in store for us.

Now I will read the book.
