Actually, the week started quietly. Monday we went to the study day at the DZNE in Bonn. And since there are still holidays, the trip was relaxed and free of traffic jams. Friendly hospitality everywhere, everyone did it’s best!
I also wanted to register in Bonn and be included in the long-term study on the course of the multisystem atrophy.
I was assigned a supervisor who accompanied me through the day. The unpleasant first of all; blood samples don’t always work here with the first stitch :-I. The last bruise from Hilchenbach (where I was to rehab) , had just healed 😉 15 blood tubes later, I was allowed to take my coffee with me to the doctor’s room and then we started the 8th memory test in the last 8 months. The final examination was also a one hour ophthalmologic examination. Ok, I could wear glasses if I wanted to. He advises me not to wear varifocal glasses, because I still get along well with these “ready-to-wear glasses” +1.5. With a lot of enthusiasm the doctor explains his knowledge. All of them were very nice the whole day.
While I was doing all my research, my sister and my nephew walked through Bonn and did “small” shopping at HARIBO and Lindt (candies).
Tuesday was the big gymnastics day, in the morning and at noon there was PT and in the afternoon a round of speech therapy.
The nights of Tuesday and Wednesday were characterized by insomnia and then I become increasingly ill-tempered. In addition I had to do a big round through Cologne on Friday. And for that I still had a lot to do on Thursday, sorting results, copying and writing letters. The health insurance company wanted absolutely the Rehab-result faked the facts. That the Heath Insurance would like to examine with this my requirement on care money, is already clear to me. Instead, they said me something about “checking the success” of the rehab. I am not that stupid. And I’ve been waiting for four weeks for my money of eigth weeks, which the pension trust still has to pay. This bureaucracy gets on my nerves.
After everything was sorted and copied, I fell asleep (like every evening) in the armchair, hardly that I sat in it.
Friday – Cologne Day
New medical certificate picked up, PT completed and off to health insurance. I already know that the service staff on site, can’t do anything for they colleagues on the phone. Yes, everyone can have a bad day and the heat can also be a problem for them. Nevertheless I felt be fooled! Especially this word “healing success” upset me extremly. I thought about writing one of my famous letters to the editor. Who knows me longer, knows that thereby my mails to the 1.FC Cologne are meant, which end as a consequence usually in a telephone call with the fan-department of the FC.
The lady on site was friendly to me and confirmed that the report is also used to check the degree of my care. Accordingly there was still a certificate, a urological result and the reports of the University of Bonn and the Tiroler Clinics. And a corresponding letter, which my niece wrote (for humanitarian reasons), was on top of it. Let’s see what happens next.
If I can sleep tonight and am fit tomorrow, I will go to the season opening of the FC .
